When we think about our recent visit to Rwanda, we fondly remember the stunning natural beauty of the country, the kindness and warmth of the Rwandan people, and the awe of the mountain gorillas. However, this all is eclipsed by the students of the Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology (GGAST). The girls at GGAST are smart, articulate, motivated, and determined. Even with laser like focus on academics, these young women exude a love and sisterhood that is palpable. They laugh together, cheer each other on, and encourage one another to step outside of their comfort zone and take on new challenges.
